MAMAMOO member Solar has strengthened her position as a global artist following a highly successful promotional event in Taipei for her Chinese single "Floating Free." 

First Taipei Press Conference 

Solar held her first-ever press conference in Taipei on June 10 (local time) to promote her Chinese single release, meeting with approximately 100 attendees including major local media outlets. The event maintained a warm and friendly atmosphere as Solar shared behind-the-scenes stories about the production of "Floating Free." 

Dedicated Chinese Language Learning 

Demonstrating her commitment to overseas expansion, Solar communicated entirely in Chinese throughout the event, earning enthusiastic responses from attendees. To achieve perfection in pronunciation and tonal accuracy for her Chinese single, Solar began formally studying Chinese in November of last year. She reportedly arrived in Taipei early to receive additional Chinese language lessons before the showcase. 

Cross-Border Artist Support 

The showcase drew special attention when members of popular Taipei boy groups AcQUA and POLARIX's Zai Jun An attended to celebrate Solar's Chinese single release. They presented Solar with a peach cake and offered words of encouragement, showcasing heartwarming cross-border artist camaraderie. 

Meaningful Message Behind the Music 

Following the successful press conference, Solar shared her thoughts on the single: "Floating Free' was created for fans around the world. The lyrics mention the sun and moon—I represent the sun, and fans represent the moon. Even when we're far apart, we're connected as one through music." She expressed hope for more opportunities to meet global fans face-to-face and share music directly. 

Upcoming Fan Concert 

Fulfilling her expressed wishes, Solar will hold a solo fan concert in Taipei on June 22, offering local fans an intimate experience. The concert is expected to feature "Floating Free" alongside a setlist showcasing her artistry and reliability as a performer.

The Chinese single "Floating Free" marks Solar's new beginning as a global artist. Composed entirely in Chinese lyrics, the track features collaboration with 9m88, a representative singer-songwriter from Taipei's indie music scene, creating unique musical synergy. Solar's successful Taipei promotion demonstrates her growing international appeal and commitment to connecting with fans worldwide through music.
