J-Hope of BTS (real name Jung Hoseok, 31) has been drawing global attention with his vibrant activities since completing his military service on October 17, 2024. Over the past eight months, he has showcased his prowess as a solo artist, heightening anticipation for BTS’ full-group comeback. Based on official announcements and fan community updates, J-Hope’s recent endeavors reflect his passion and sincerity. 

J-Hope’s Exemplary Military Service 

J-Hope enlisted on April 18, 2023, at the 36th Infantry Division’s Baekho Recruit Training Center in Wonju, Gangwon Province, serving as a drill instructor. He earned recognition as an elite warrior, achieved early promotion to corporal, and served as a squad leader. Notably, in June 2024, he won the top prize at an Army presentation contest held at the War Memorial of Korea in Yongsan, Seoul, with a speech titled “From BTS’ J-Hope, a Global K-Pop Leader, to Private First Class Jung Hoseok: A Soldier’s Pride.” The day before his discharge, he posted “D-1” on Instagram, sparking excitement among fans. Solo World Tour ‘HOPE ON THE STAGE’ Conquers Global Audiences 

Post-discharge, J-Hope embarked on his first solo world tour, ‘HOPE ON THE STAGE,’ cementing his status as a global artist. Kicking off in February 2025 at Seoul’s KSPO DOME, the tour spanned 31 shows across 15 cities in North America and Asia, drawing approximately 470,000 fans. He made history as the first K-pop solo artist to perform at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. In September 2023, he sent a food truck to a volunteer spay/neuter event for stray animals. In 2025, he donated 100 million KRW on January 2 to aid victims of a Jeju Air plane crash and another 100 million KRW with SUGA on March 27 for wildfire relief. On June 14, 2025, J-Hope appeared on MBC’s Point of Omniscient Interference, sharing glimpses of his life in Bangkok, Thailand. His disciplined self-care and unexpected foodie moments earned praise from host Lee Young-ja, showcasing his “food connoisseur” side. On March 2, he tackled fermented skate dishes on Please Take Care of My Refrigerator, charming viewers with candid reactions. On April 4, he attended an NBA LA Lakers game, exuding hip charisma.
