BLACKPINK member ROSÉ continues to dominate global music charts with her collaborative hit "APT." featuring Bruno Mars, establishing an unprecedented record for K-pop artists on the Billboard Hot 100.

Breaking K-Pop Records

According to the latest Billboard charts released on June 17 (local time) for the week of June 21, "APT." maintained its position at No. 24 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking an incredible 34 consecutive weeks on the chart. This achievement makes it the longest-charting K-pop song in Billboard Hot 100 history. The track has systematically broken multiple K-pop records. Last week, it surpassed BTS's "Dynamite," which previously held the record for 32 consecutive weeks on the chart. Now, it has also eclipsed BTS member Jimin's solo record of 33 weeks (non-consecutive) set by his track "Who" from his second solo album.

Chart Performance and Initial Success

"APT." was released in October 2024 and later included in ROSÉ's debut solo album "Rosie" in December of the same year. The collaboration with global pop superstar Bruno Mars generated massive buzz, with its addictive lyrics and melody captivating listeners worldwide. The song made an impressive debut at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking the first time a female K-pop artist achieved a top 10 entry on the chart. ROSÉ later elevated this achievement by reaching a peak position of No. 3, continuously breaking her own records as the highest-charting female K-pop artist in Billboard history.

Global Chart Dominance

ROSÉ's success extends far beyond the US market. In February, she achieved another milestone on the Billboard Global 200 (Excl. US) chart, where "APT." held the No. 1 position for 15 consecutive weeks. This surpassed Mariah Carey's Christmas classic "All I Want for Christmas Is You," which previously held the record with 14 consecutive weeks at the top.

UK Chart Success

The track's success story continued in the UK, another major pillar of the global music industry. "APT." entered the UK Official Singles Chart at No. 4 on October 25, 2024, before climbing to No. 2 the following week on November 1, 2024, setting a new record as the highest-charting song by a female K-pop artist in the UK.

Streaming Milestones

ROSÉ has also achieved remarkable success on major streaming platforms. On Spotify, the world's largest music streaming service, she earned the titles of "Most Streamed Female K-pop Artist in a Single Day" and achieved the "Longest-Running No. 1 by a K-pop Artist in US Spotify Chart History" with "APT."

The "APT. Phenomenon"

The sustained success of "APT." demonstrates the song's remarkable staying power in an increasingly competitive global music landscape. Its infectious energy, memorable chorus, and cross-cultural appeal have created what industry observers are calling the "APT. success phenomenon."

Looking Forward

As ROSÉ continues to break records with "APT.," the music industry watches with anticipation to see what new milestones she will achieve. The track's unprecedented 34-week run on the Billboard Hot 100 has already cemented its place in K-pop history, but its continued chart presence suggests that even more records may fall.

The collaboration between ROSÉ and Bruno Mars has proven that strategic partnerships between K-pop artists and established Western artists can create lasting global impact, paving the way for future cross-cultural musical collaborations.
