BTS member Jin delivered a vibrant, interactive fan concert experience through his "Run Seokjin" tour, raising anticipation for his upcoming global performances.

The first day of "Run Seokjin Tour in Goyang" took place on Saturday afternoon at the auxiliary stadium of Goyang Sports Complex in Ilsan-seo District, Gyeonggi Province.

The "Run Seokjin Tour" serves as a spinoff of Jin's variety content "Run Seokjin," which he previously released on BTS's YouTube channel, representing his "journey" to meet ARMY (BTS's fandom). The concert stood out with its concept of "Jin's Challenge," featuring various missions including sing-alongs, cheering, and games alongside his solo performances.

Comprehensive Solo Showcase Highlights Jin's Versatility

The concert began with an unconventional opening as Jin moved from the main stage to an extended stage, pressing a buzzer button to surprise fans and officially kick off the show.

Jin performed his single "Super Tuna," all five tracks from his debut solo album "Happy," and the complete tracklist from his second mini-album "Echo," released last month. His diverse repertoire spanned multiple genres from ballads to rock, dance, and even trot, captivating the audience with his range.

Adding a new dimension to his artistry, Jin took on piano performance for the first time, charming fans with this fresh approach. During a BTS medley segment, he performed hit songs "Dynamite," "Butter," "Mikrokosmos," and "Spring Day" as solo renditions, filling the stage with his presence and showcasing his growth as a solo artist.

Interactive Elements Define the Fan Concert Experience

The highlight of the concert was Jin's mission segments with fans, embodying the true spirit of a fan concert where every moment was shared with the audience rather than performed in isolation. As Jin had teased before the show, "Every moment we share together will be a mission."

The first interactive segment, "Connect ARMY," featured a telepathy game where fans performed actions based on given words for Jin to guess. The live segment created humorous moments as enthusiastic fans acted out clues while Jin struggled to decode their gestures.

The following segment, "Sing ARMY," challenged Jin to identify songs based on fans' collective singing. When fans struggled with high notes, Jin couldn't contain his laughter, continuously engaging and teasing the audience throughout, elevating the concert's energy while fans thoroughly enjoyed the playful interaction.

Even the costume change intervals were thoughtfully designed with bridge videos displaying lyrics to Jin's "I'll Be There" in karaoke-style format, encouraging fans to sing along while waiting. This perfectly embodied the concert's theme of "participatory performance created by Jin and fans together."

Special Guests and Visual Effects Enhance the Experience

The concert offered abundant entertainment beyond Jin's performances. Singer Choi Yena made a surprise guest appearance, joining Jin for "Loser" from his second mini-album "Echo," demonstrating excellent chemistry on stage. Following their duet, Choi Yena expressed her gratitude, saying, "It's an honor to be invited by my senior, and I'm honored to perform in front of ARMY."

Jin cleverly connected episodes from his "Run Seokjin" variety show to the concert structure, helping fans reminisce while deepening their engagement with the performance. Various special effects including fireworks, air shots, and water cannons enhanced the production value, while an LED installation shaped like lips—inspired by Jin's signature hand-kiss gesture—caught particular attention.

During the concert, Jin shared his appreciation, saying, "This performance was suddenly prepared due to my whim four months ago, and I'm sorry and grateful that the company supported it well despite difficult circumstances. Without ARMY, this concert wouldn't have been possible."

The fan concert tour launched with the two-day Goyang performances on December 28-29, followed by an extensive international schedule spanning 18 shows across nine cities including Chiba and Osaka in Japan, Anaheim, Dallas, Tampa, and Newark in the United States, London in the United Kingdom, and Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
