Third-Generation Girl Groups Stage Epic Comeback Battle 

Two of K-pop's most iconic third-generation girl groups are making their highly anticipated return. TWICE and BLACKPINK are set to release new music simultaneously on July 11th, setting up an epic showdown between the industry titans. 

TWICE Returns with Fourth Studio Album 

TWICE will release their fourth studio album "THIS IS FOR" at 1 PM on July 11th. This marks their first comeback in seven months since their 14th mini-album in December 2024, and their first full-length album in an impressive three years and eight months. 

The new album carries the broad meaning of "This Is For You," "This Is For ONCE" (their fandom name), and "This Is For Everyone," containing music dedicated to both fans and the general public. The album features 14 tracks in total, including the title track of the same name and five unit songs. 

Through their agency JYP Entertainment, the members shared, "We carefully considered how to show a more developed side of ourselves and aimed to create music that could be remembered as a work befitting our 10th anniversary." 

From Hit Makers to Stadium Artists 

TWICE gained massive popularity early in their career with hit songs like "Cheer Up," "TT," "What Is Love?" and "Knock Knock." The group has since evolved into stadium-level performers, backed by solid skills and stage presence. 

Last July, they made history as the first overseas female artist to perform at Japan's Kanagawa Nissan Stadium, concluding their fifth world tour "READY TO BE." The tour spanned 27 regions with 51 shows, drawing 1.5 million audiences. They became the first female group worldwide to perform at and sell out Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium and New York's MetLife Stadium. 

Sixth World Tour Launches 

Alongside their comeback, TWICE will embark on their sixth world tour "THIS IS FOR." The tour kicks off at Incheon Inspire Arena on July 19-20, followed by stops in Osaka, Aichi, Fukuoka, Tokyo, Macau, Bulacan, Singapore, Sydney, Melbourne, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, and Bangkok. 

The group will also headline the massive music festival "Lollapalooza Chicago" at Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois on August 2nd (local time), showcasing their global status. 

BLACKPINK's Explosive Return 

On the same day and time, BLACKPINK will release their first new music in 2 years and 10 months. The group already heated up comeback anticipation by previewing their new song "JUMP" during their world tour "DEADLINE" concerts in Goyang on July 5-6. 

The new track "JUMP," releasing at 1 PM, is a hardstyle genre song. It features distinctive guitar riffs reminiscent of Western movie scenes, layered with the members' unique vocals, while the explosive chorus delivers intense addictive energy. 

Star-Studded Production Team 

The song was created through collaboration between TEDDY and 24, who have produced numerous BLACKPINK mega-hits, along with renowned international songwriters and composers. The music video, directed by Dave Meyers, combines his signature bold and iconic direction with colorful scenes featuring numerous dancers and an entertaining storyline. 

Solo Success Stories 

BLACKPINK members have been focusing on solo activities since "Shut Down" in September 2022. Rosé achieved remarkable success with "APT." reaching #3 on the US Billboard Hot 100, while Jennie's "Ruby" peaked at #7 on the Billboard 200 and led to successful Coachella performances. Lisa also reached #7 on the Billboard 200 with her first studio album, and Jisoo has been active as both a singer and actress. 

Global Stadium Tour Ahead 

BLACKPINK will also launch their world tour following the new release. After drawing 78,000 audiences at their Goyang concerts, they head to Los Angeles on July 12-13 for their 16-city, 31-show world tour. The tour will fill stadium-level venues across Chicago, Toronto, New York, Paris, Milan, Barcelona, London, Kaohsiung, Bangkok, Jakarta, Bulacan, Singapore, Tokyo, and Hong Kong.
