On the 9th, G-Dragon's agency announced that the artist is embarking on a new challenge in collaboration with AI entertainment tech company Galaxy Corporation and KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology).
According to the agency, "G-Dragon is undertaking a mission to transmit music and a music video created with Microsoft's Azure OpenAI Sora into space." They added, "This attempt by G-Dragon, who is also a visiting professor at KAIST's Department of Mechanical Engineering, is expected to become a milestone for 'entertech' - the future convergence of space science, AI, and entertainment."
The "G-Dragon Space Music Transmission Project," which took place at 8 PM at the KAIST Space Research Institute, represents a collaboration between Galaxy Corporation and KAIST aimed at showcasing the future of entertainment technology that transcends time and space. "This goes beyond a simple musical endeavor—it's an artistic experiment to permanently preserve human culture in space and attempt communication with other civilizations," the agency explained.
Notably, the transmission is connected to NASA's Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) project. "SETI is a historic project that previously transmitted music by the British rock band The Beatles into space. G-Dragon's space music transmission project marks South Korea's first SETI project," they stated.
Meanwhile, Galaxy Corporation has established a collaborative relationship with KAIST since last year, planning to lead the future entertainment industry through the fusion of entertainment and technology that transcends time and space. The company recently held an exclusive meeting with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella as the only entertainment tech company representative, signaling its serious push toward the global expansion of AI entertainment technology.
