Zero Base One (ZB1), hailed as a ‘5th-generation icon’ in K-pop, is enjoying remarkable success in Japan, cementing their status as a global sensation. The group—comprising Seong Han-bin, Kim Ji-woong, Jang Hao, Seok Matthew, Kim Tae-rae, Ricky, Kim Kyu-bin, Park Gun-wook, and Han Yu-jin—has captured the hearts of fans with their unparalleled talent and presence.

Their first Japanese single, ゆらゆら -運命の花 (Yura Yura -Unmei no Hana-), achieved the top spot in the "2024 Bestseller K-POP TOP 20" chart announced by Tower Records, Japan’s largest record retailer. The rankings, which cover the period from January 1 to October 31, 2024, also included their Korean releases, with the 4th mini-album Cinema Paradise and 3rd mini-album You Had Me at Hello securing the 5th and 9th spots, respectively. This extraordinary achievement underscores ZB1’s widespread popularity in Japan.

Further solidifying their impact, ZEROBASEONE ranked 5th in Spotify Japan’s 2024 annual ranking for “Japan’s Most Shared Artists on SNS,” a testament to their strong presence on social media platforms. Their title track from the 3rd mini-album, Feel the POP, was also ranked 10th on “Japan’s Most Shared Songs on SNS,” making ZB1 the only K-pop group featured in this category.

ZEROBASEONE’s influence extends beyond the charts. Since their Japanese debut in March, the group has ignited a “ZB1 craze” across the nation. Their fan concert at K-Arena Yokohama was met with overwhelming enthusiasm, and their recent 5th overseas tour sold out approximately 60,000 seats in Aichi and Kanagawa, showcasing their impressive ticket-selling power.

The group’s debut Japanese single Yura Yura -Unmei no Hana- achieved “Double Platinum” certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan, reflecting over 500,000 cumulative shipments since its release in March 2024. This milestone underscores their extraordinary reception in the Japanese market.

Looking ahead, ZEROBASEONE is set to release their first Japanese EP, PREZENT, on January 29, 2025. The EP will feature six tracks, including four original Japanese songs—Now or Never, Only One Story, Firework, and Hana—alongside Japanese versions of their Korean hits Feel the POP and Good So Bad. This highly anticipated release is expected to further amplify their influence and solidify their status as trailblazers in the K-pop industry.

With their undeniable talent, unparalleled fan engagement, and groundbreaking achievements, ZEROBASEONE continues to redefine the global K-pop landscape, leaving an indelible mark on the Japanese music scene.
