Rising K-pop sensation IVE continues to dominate the music scene, solidifying its reputation as an "MZ Wannabe Icon" with impressive achievements on Japan's major annual music charts and international accolades.
According to the 2024 Billboard Japan annual chart (tracking period: November 27, 2023 - November 24, 2024), IVE’s second Japanese album ALIVE, released in August, secured the 21st spot on the Hot Albums chart. It also ranked 19th on the Top Album Sales chart, with IVE placing 44th on the Artist 100 chart, underscoring the group's growing presence in Japan.
Further establishing their global influence, IVE's second Korean EP IVE SWITCH earned a spot on The 25 Best K-Pop Albums of 2024: Staff Picks by U.S. Billboard, showcasing the group’s wide-reaching acclaim.
Japan’s Tower Records also highlighted IVE’s exceptional popularity, ranking ALIVE 8th and IVE SWITCH 14th on the 2024 Best Selling K-Pop TOP 20. IVE stood out as the only girl group with both Korean and Japanese albums on the list, cementing their position as a leading force in K-pop.
ALIVE made a strong debut in August, topping Oricon’s Daily Album Chart from August 28 to 30 and surpassing the group’s previous record set by their first Japanese album, WAVE. The album also performed well on Tower Records’ K-POP/World Sales chart and claimed the top spot on the Daily Pre-Order Sales chart, reflecting Japan’s enthusiastic response to IVE.
IVE’s first world tour, SHOW WHAT I HAVE, culminated in a grand finale at Tokyo Dome on September 4 and 5, drawing a staggering 95,000 attendees over two sold-out shows. The event captured significant attention from Japanese media, with coverage on front pages, further demonstrating the group’s overwhelming popularity.
