BTS member Jungkook, currently serving in the military, shared a heartfelt New Year’s message with fans. On January 8, Jungkook greeted fans on the global fan platform Weverse, saying, “I’m late with my New Year’s greetings. Hello, this is Jungkook.” Jungkook, who is currently serving as a sergeant in the 5th Infantry Division of the Army, is set to be discharged in June.

"The Year of Discharge and Our Reunion"

In his New Year’s message, Jungkook expressed his emotions, saying, “This year is the year of my discharge and the year we meet again, ARMY.” He added, “There doesn’t seem to be any big change in my heart; I’m just filled with the longing to see you all.” He also shared his determination, saying, “If there’s one thing I want to do as soon as possible, it’s to spend time learning and growing in various ways for ARMY.”

Warm Words for His Fans

Jungkook reflected on the passing of time, saying, “Time seems to go by quickly. I hope it moves even faster because I miss you all so much, it feels overwhelming.” He wished his fans good health and happiness, saying, “I hope the start of this New Year hasn’t been too bad. Even though people inevitably get sick, I hope you can be just a little less unwell.” He concluded his message with affection, saying, “I hope you have nights free of intrusive thoughts when you lie down to sleep. Let’s wait just a little longer. I love you.”

Anticipation for Jungkook’s Post-Discharge Activities

Jungkook enlisted on December 12, 2023, and has remained in touch with fans during his military service. Last month, during his military leave, he surprised fans with a live broadcast where he revealed his new home in Itaewon. In the broadcast, Jungkook candidly shared, “I’ve been feeling a bit low in self-esteem lately. Watching other artists makes me think, ‘I need to get back to work soon.’” He added, “I’ve been feeling a bit withdrawn, which made me want to see you all even more.” The live broadcast garnered 20.2 million cumulative real-time views, the highest ever on Weverse, proving Jungkook’s immense popularity. As all BTS members are set to complete their military service this year, anticipation is growing for the group’s return as a full team. Fans worldwide are eagerly looking forward to Jungkook’s post-discharge activities.
