SM Entertainment’s new girl group, Hearts to Hearts, is making waves in the K-pop industry with their debut track “The Chase.” This is SM’s first girl group launch in five years since aespa, and the group is already gaining attention for their fresh yet familiar style.

‘The Chase’ – A Unique Yet Familiar Sound

- Produced by KENZIE, known for iconic debut songs like Girls' Generation’s "Into the New World", f(x)’s "LA chA TA," and RIIZE’s "Memories," the track stands out for its lack of a conventional "hook."

- The minor-key beat is reminiscent of f(x), while the layered harmonies evoke Red Velvet's dreamy atmosphere. The march-like choreography in the chorus harks back to early Girls' Generation performances.

- The choreography was a collaboration between Mood_Dog, LACHICA, and Kiel Tutin, with Mood_Dog's bold style playing a significant role.

Record-Breaking Debut

- Hearts to Hearts’ debut album "The Chase" surpassed 400,000 copies in first-week sales, setting a new record for a debut girl group.

- As of February 5, the music video has accumulated 10.91 million views, while the performance video surpassed 1 million views within a day of release.

- The track is also making its mark on major Korean music charts, ranking 6th on Bugs, 18th on Melon, and 48th on Genie.

Global Appeal with Diverse Members

- The eight-member group includes Carmen, SM’s first Indonesian member, aiming to capture the growing K-pop fanbase in Southeast Asia—particularly in Indonesia, where young audiences dominate the population.

- The group is already attracting brand endorsements from major companies like Mega Coffee, Musinsa, and Hachuping.

Innovative Communication with Fans

- A reality show documenting the group’s journey from trainee life to debut will premiere on Wavve on February 26.

- The show will incorporate AI-driven Q&A sessions, offering a new, interactive way for fans to connect with the group.

With their bold declaration to become "the future of SM," Hearts to Hearts is poised to lead the next generation of K-pop idols.
