News [ENHYPEN] Continues HYBE's Boy Group Success Story with New Album Release
Content
ENHYPEN is carrying forward HYBE's dominant boy group legacy, following in the footsteps of BTS and SEVENTEEN. The seven-member group released their sixth mini-album "DESIRE: UNLEASH" on June 5th at 1 PM KST. This marks ENHYPEN's first release in approximately seven months since their second studio album repackage "ROMANCE: UNTOLD -daydream-" dropped in November 2024.
From Romance to Dark Desire
The new album explores the group's interpretation of desire felt toward a loved one. While their previous "ROMANCE" series depicted pure, innocent love, "DESIRE: UNLEASH" delves into the fatal "dark romance" of uncontrollable desires lurking within deeper love.
The eight-track album is headlined by the dance-pop title track "Bad Desire (With or Without You)," which portrays the dominant desire of "wanting to turn you into a vampire" through a chic, sophisticated atmosphere.
Record-Breaking Pre-Orders
The album has already demonstrated remarkable commercial potential, with pre-orders exceeding 2.18 million copies as of June 4th across various distributors, securing double million-seller status before its official release. ENHYPEN's momentum has been building consistently. In 2024 alone, the group sold over 5.45 million albums, earning them the highest ranking among K-pop artists on both the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI)'s "2024 Global Album Sales Chart" and "2024 Global Album Chart."
Historic Coachella Achievement
The group made headlines in April 2025 when they performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. ENHYPEN set a new record as the K-pop boy group to reach Coachella in the shortest time since debut, having debuted less than five years ago in November 2020.
HYBE's Boy Group Powerhouse
ENHYPEN's rising trajectory gains additional significance as they operate under BELIFT LAB, a HYBE subsidiary label. HYBE's portfolio includes other major labels such as BIGHIT MUSIC (home to BTS and Tomorrow X Together) and PLEDIS Entertainment (SEVENTEEN's agency). These HYBE-affiliated boy groups have already established firm footing in the global music market. Since their debut in November 2020, ENHYPEN has shown consistent growth, now joining the ranks of "HYBE's leading boy groups."
What's Next
As ENHYPEN returns after a seven-month hiatus, industry attention focuses on whether their new album will surpass their previous records and solidify their position in the competitive landscape. The group's trajectory suggests they are well-positioned to maintain HYBE's remarkable streak of boy group successes in the global market.
