Returning MC Trio

NCT's Doyoung, IVE's An Yu Jin, and TXT's Yeonjun are officially set to return as MCs for the 2025 SBS Gayo Daejeon Summer, reprising their successful hosting roles from the previous year. The trio's chemistry and hosting expertise proved highly popular with audiences during last year's events, making their return a highly anticipated aspect of this year's festival.

Their seamless collaboration and individual charisma helped elevate the previous festivals, and fans are eager to see how they will enhance this year's expanded programming with their engaging presentation style.

Enhanced Festival Experience

This year's event is in collaboration with NOL Universe, expanding the event to a summer festival that attendees can enjoy in addition to the concert performances. The partnership aims to create a more comprehensive cultural experience beyond traditional music performances.

The festival's expansion reflects SBS's commitment to evolving the Gayo Daejeon format, transforming it from a conventional music show into a multi-faceted entertainment experience that caters to diverse audience interests.

Global Reach and Cultural Impact

Last year's event streamed live to over 160 countries, establishing the summer edition as a truly global phenomenon. The 2025 edition is expected to further strengthen this international presence, bringing Korean music and culture to an even broader global audience.

The festival serves as a significant platform for cultural exchange, showcasing the diversity and innovation within the Korean music industry while providing international fans with access to both established stars and emerging talents.

Summer Festival Evolution

Since its inaugural summer edition in 2024, SBS Gayo Daejeon Summer has quickly established itself as a major addition to the K-pop calendar. Starting last year, SBS revealed their plans to hold the event twice a year, hosting its first-ever SBS Gayo Daejeon Summer with a star-studded lineup.

This biannual approach allows for greater artist participation and provides more opportunities for both established and emerging acts to showcase their talents on a prestigious platform.

Industry Significance

The festival's comprehensive lineup spanning multiple generations and genres reflects the current state of the Korean music industry. From veteran acts like Paul Kim and Jannabi to fourth-generation leaders like IVE and ITZY, and emerging groups such as the newly added rising stars, the festival presents a complete snapshot of contemporary K-pop.

This diversity ensures that the festival appeals to a broad demographic while supporting the industry's continued growth and evolution.

Venue and Logistics

The event will take place on July 26 and 27 at the KINTEX 1 at Goyang, providing a spacious and modern venue capable of accommodating the large-scale production and anticipated audience. KINTEX's location in the Seoul metropolitan area makes it accessible to both domestic and international attendees.

The two-day format allows for an extended celebration while ensuring each day maintains its own distinct character and energy, maximizing the festival experience for attendees.

Looking Forward

The "2025 SBS Gayo Daejeon Summer" represents the continued evolution of one of Korea's most prestigious music events. With its impressive final lineup combining established superstars, rising talents, and international acts, the festival promises to deliver an unforgettable summer celebration of K-pop's diversity and global appeal.

The event stands as a testament to the ongoing growth and international recognition of Korean popular music, providing a platform that honors the industry's past achievements while embracing its dynamic future.
