Korean-American artist drops first track in two months, featuring production by Brian Lee

Jay Park released his new digital single "Remedy" on Friday at 6 PM KST across various online music platforms. The synthwave-style track marks the artist's first new release in approximately two months, following "Keep It Sexy (MOMMAE 2) (Feat. Jeon Somi)" from May.

"Remedy" showcases sophisticated instrumentation and a dreamlike atmosphere characteristic of the synthwave genre. The track was produced by Brian Lee, known for his collaborations with global superstars including Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, and Post Malone, elevating the song's overall production quality.

Music Video Preview Event

Prior to the release, Jay Park held a music video preview event on Thursday at CGV I'Park Mall in Yongsan, Seoul. Approximately 200 fans attended the exclusive screening, where they got an early glimpse of the "Remedy" music video and learned about the creative process behind the track.

During the event, Jay Park explained the concept behind the music video's Russian roulette theme: "The endless battle of pride between lovers facing separation felt like Russian roulette to me. Like the song's lyrics, they bluff each other, but ultimately become each other's remedy—which parallels the Russian roulette concept."

Collaboration with Actress Cheon Woo-hee

The music video features actress Cheon Woo-hee, whom Jay Park met at the 3rd Blue Dragon Series Awards last year. Reflecting on their collaboration, Jay Park said, "I felt sorry that she didn't hold back during filming. It was wonderful to create something together through our acting communication."

Unique Lyrical Approach

"Remedy" features entirely English lyrics, with Korean translations handled by renowned translator Hwang Seok-hee, who has translated popular films including "Deadpool," "Spider-Man," and "Avatar." This unique approach garnered significant attention from fans and media.

Future Plans

During the Q&A session with fans, Jay Park revealed plans for an upcoming Japanese-language digital single, created in collaboration with local Japanese producers. This will mark his first Japanese-language release, further expanding his international presence.

"Remedy" is now available on all major streaming platforms as of 6 PM KST on Friday.
